Just over a year ago I watched two friends, John and Chris, have a healthy mid-life crisis on YouTube. Here is a link to their 100 day adventure.
Ever since then, I have wanted to do the same.
So here it is.
My healthy Mid-life crisis starts tomorrow because things have really hit a crisis point!
I will be documenting eating real food, exercising, and my life along the way. I will also attempt to blog everyday and tell the true story of how hard this journey will be.
Today I attempted to long slow run a half marathon while i listened to an audio book. I basically put the audio book on and ran on autopilot ... nice and slow. I got back to my house at the 12km mark to change my clothes into something less warm and to drink and eat something before I headed out for another 10km....
and that's when it happened, i mindlessly turned my Suunto off and saved the run instead of pausing it.
I didn't realise what I'd done until i was ready to go back out. Yeah, I swore. I decided to stay home and run a half marathon tomorrow. I then walked down to Frenchies to seek out new workout clothes. Nothing "motivates" like fresh new workout clothes! And sure enough I got into the change room and I didn't shed a tear, I gently accepted my body situation for what it was, afterall, i may not be in the best shape right now, but my body just jogged 12km and i was still going to go out for more! My body is amazing!!!
I got home and washed my clothes and am excited for what tomorrow brings...
